The central counseling office for homeless men (ZBS) of the Stadtmission in Kiel is responsible for adult men who have no permanent address and who live primarily in Kiel. The ZBS's tasks include clarifying responsibilities, providing advice, and helping secure basic needs (for example, supporting with government office contacts and benefit applications). We also help find sleeping places in city emergency shelters on behalf of the City of Kiel when needed.

Our services are aimed at people with mental illness, those experiencing homelessness, individuals with criminal backgrounds or addiction issues, as well as seniors and people affected by long-term unemployment.
Our main area of work is in Kiel, but we also operate in other parts of Schleswig-Holstein. Nearly 400 employees are committed every day to supporting people in difficult life situations who need help.
We are a subsidiary of the Evangelische Stiftung Alsterdorf and a member of the Diakonisches Werk Schleswig-Holstein.

Yes, data protection is guaranteed, see here. Your data is collected, processed, and used according to our privacy guidelines and deleted after the legally required period. You can request information about your stored data at any time.
The online counseling is organized and conducted by counselors from the ZBS. The person you connect with in the chat will introduce themselves and share their name.
General counseling for orientation is possible via chat. For more extensive counseling and support, an in-person visit to the ZBS is necessary. Further online counseling may follow if needed.
Households with more than one person can contact the Kiel Office „Wohnen und Grundsicherung“. The Office for Housing and Basic Security also advises and supports individuals if housing loss is threatening and might still be prevented
